From the 27th of April to the 4th of May 2024, the post-doc Andrea Grimaldi has participated to the joint conference ICSM/ICQMT 2024 in Ölüdeniz – Fethiye, in Turkey (https://icsmforever.org/), with an invited talk title “Design and applications of MTJs in unconventional computing and multiphysics solutions” delivering the invited talk during the morning session of Monday 29th. The presentation dealt with the several ways magneto-mechanical devices based on MTJs can be used as building blocks in computing applications focusing on reservoir computing.
From 9th and the 13th of September 2024, the post-doc Andrea Grimaldi has participated to the 110° National Congress of the Società Italiana di Fisica (SIF), held in Bologna, Italy (https://2024.congresso.sif.it/). The contributed talk entitled “The use of MTJs for sensing, reservoir computing and Ising machines” was mainly focused on the use of magneto-mechanical devices based on MTJs MTJs for reservoir computing. The presentation was well received and was awarded as the second-best presentation award in the Condensed Matter section. The award was handed out during the following edition of the congress and Andrea Grimaldi was invited to write a paper covering the topic of the talk.
From 25th and the 30th of May 2025, prof. Francesca Garescì attended the third edition of the International Workshop on Spintronics – SPIN Galapagos 2025 (https://www.usfq.edu.ec/en/events/international-workshop-spintronics) where presented the presented the results of the project related to the design of magnetomechanical accelerometers and gyroscopes in a poster presentation “Coupled Magnetic Tunnel Junctions for Accelerometers and Gyroscopes”.
From June 9 to June 13, 2025, prof.ssa Francesca Garescì, prof. Giovanni Finocchio and dr. Giovanni Mottola, attended the 3rd International Conference of IFToMM for Sustainable Development Goals SDG (I4SDG2025) https://www.iftommitaly.it/i4sdg2025/. IFToMM is as an active world organization that contribute to United Nations 2030 Development Agenda. With the conference prof. Finocchio delivered a talk entitled “Reservoir computing using spintronic diodes with mechanical coupling” related to the activities implemented in WP2 of the project.
From July 13 – 16, 2025, prof. Giovanni Finocchio attended the 25th IEEE International Conference on Nanotechnology (IEEE-NANO 2025) (https://2025.ieeenano.org/) flagship conference of the IEEE Nanotechnology Council (NTC) as keynote speakers (https://2025.ieeenano.org/keynote-speaker-giovanni-finocchio-ph-d/) presenting in his talk also the last advances on the design of accelerometers and gyroscopes achieved within the MMagyc project. In addition, a dedicated presentation on the results about the activities of WP2 was delivered. The latter talk, entitled “A Multiphysics Reservoir Computing System with Mass-Spring Metamaterials and Spintronic Readout for Vibration Analysis”, has been also the topic of a conference paper published in the proceeding of the conference that are indexes by Scopus and IsiWebOfScience.
