Trends in MAGnetism 2026

31-4 September, 2026, Milan (Italy)

Trends in Magnetism is a multidisciplinary forum to share the latest advancements in magnetism. The scope of the conference is to provide the trends and the main challenges to face in a wide range of magnetism-related topics, both fundamental and applied. Some of them are:

  • Magnetism for biomedical applications
  • Antiferromagnetic and THz Spintronics
  • Altermagnetism
  • Topological magnetism and magnetic textures
  • Modeling of magnetic materials
  • Novel magnetic materials and multilayers
  • Spin-torque switching, spin-torque nano-oscillators, detectors and spin-orbit torque
  • Spin waves and magnonics
  • Spintronics for neuromorphic and unconventional computing
  • Ultrafast magnetism
  • Spin-Caloritronics

The conference also aims to serve as a fertile ground where researchers from diverse fields can come together to exchange ideas, spark inspiration, deepen their collective knowledge, and harness the power of interdisciplinary collaboration. We expect to bring together the community of leading researchers working in the area of nanomagnetism, spin dynamics, spin-transport, etc., and their applications.

Trends in MAGnetism 2026 will take place in Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy, from 31 August – 4 Settembre 2026. TMAG2026 is the sixth edition in a series of international conferences initiated by the PetaSpin association, which started with TMAG 2020 held in Cefalù in 2021 (https://www.petaspin.com/tmag2020/), TMAG 2022 in Venice (https://www.petaspin.com/tmag2022/), TMAG 2023 in Rome (https://www.petaspin.com/tmag2023/) and TMAG2025 in Bari (https://www.petaspin.com/tmag2025/). Christian Rinaldi from Politecnico di Milano and Anna Giordano, from the University of Messina, they will be the two co-Chairs of TMAG2026.
